 Daily Painting 101 Tracking my painting. The goal: to paint every day. And to learn! Balancing Act describes my life, and now I'm throwing art into the mix. With reference to the statement, "The goal is to paint everyday," the operative word is "goal."  Here's a painting I did in September, after I took an online class from Sarah Sedwick. From that class I realized that I have much to learn: how to mix colors, and to mix enough color! Don't use so much white to create lighter values! I need to work on my values. I need to be more economical with my brush strokes, to not be so fussy, and to let go of perfection. I learned so much from doing this painting. So many mistakes, some good stuff too. Each time I paint, I learn something new. It's an incredible process.  I'm reading a book that Sarah Sedwick recommended, Daily Painting, by Carol Marine. As someone once told her, you have to paint regularly, often, daily if you can. And so, October 1, 20
